Aims and scope

COMPEL: The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering (COMPEL) exists for the discussion and dissemination of computational and analytical methods in electrical and electronic engineering. The main emphasis of papers should be on methods and new techniques, or the application of existing techniques in a novel way. Whilst papers with immediate application to particular engineering problems are welcome, so too are papers that form a basis for further development in the area of study. A double-blind review process ensures the content's validity and relevance.

COMPEL's aim is to provide a forum for the discussion and dissemination of computational and analytical methods in electrical and electronic engineering. It also carries a prestigious selection of top quality, refereed articles with the emphasis on new methods and techniques, as well as the application of existing techniques in a novel way. While some contributions have immediate relevance to particular engineering problems, others form a basis for further developments in the area of study.

The areas covered include the following aspects of design and performance analysis of electrical and electronic devices:

  • Modelling and simulation
  • Computational techniques
  • Development of algorithms
  • Performance analysis and prediction
  • Circuit analysis
  • Design and optimisation
  • Computational electromagnetics
  • Coupled problems
  • Multiphysics effects
  • Electrical power issues
  • Electrical/electronic applications
