Emerald Publishing awarded Independent Publisher of the Year and Academic & Professional Publisher of the Year at the IPG Independent Publishing Awards

Commenting on the publisher, the judges said “There’s a great energy about Emerald, and you get a really good sense of what they want to achieve and how. They are a company that could be resting on its successes and set in its ways, but instead is screaming innovation, creativity and vision.”

Tony Roche, Publishing and Strategic Relationships Director at Emerald, spoke of how humbled the company was to be recognised with the awards, saying, “We are incredibly honoured to have won the awards for Independent Publisher of the Year and Academic and Professional Publisher of the Year. We really appreciate the recognition our books programme and digital platform have received, especially given we are a relatively small, independent, yet progressively minded publisher. We always strive to put our customers at the heart of all we do and ask ourselves how we can go further to respond to their needs, especially in the changing landscape we are all facing. None of this of course would have been possible without the dedication and passion of the team at Emerald, and the contribution of the talented editors and authors we work with. We have made research on COVID-19, the management of epidemics and pandemics, and supply chain management free for anyone to access and have also made this available with full text and data mining rights to PubMed Central and the World Health Organisation repository.
