Emerald Publishing has announced a strategic collaboration with the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact, leading the global movement to embed ethics, sustainability and social responsibility into business and management education.
As part of the collaboration, Emerald will launch two new PRME co-branded journals, strengthening both organisations’ shared commitment to advancing responsible management education and research on a global scale.
PRME is a highly respected international network engaging more than 850 Signatory institutions across 96 countries, supported by 17 regional Chapters. Its mission to embed the values of sustainability and responsible management into higher education closely aligns with Emerald’s purpose-driven approach to publishing and its focus on research with real-world impact.
Journal of Responsible Management Education
The Journal of Responsible Management Education will provide a dedicated platform to advance the global responsible management education (RME) research agenda. The journal will publish high-quality research and practice-focused insights across areas including:
- Ethics, corporate social responsibility and sustainability (ECSRS) education
- Education for sustainable development (ESD)
- Responsible management education (RME)
- Contributions aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- The journal aims to support educators, institutions and policymakers by sharing evidence-based research, innovative pedagogies and examples of best practice. The Journal of Responsible Management Education is edited by Prof. Noha El-Bassiouny, Ph.D, The German University in Cairo and Prof Christian Hauser, Ph.D, University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons.
Artificial Intelligence and Responsible Management
Artificial Intelligence and Responsible Management (AIRM) is a hybrid, peer-reviewed journal exploring how artificial intelligence can be applied across business disciplines and industries to address the challenges of responsible management.
Grounded in principles of ethics, sustainability, accountability, inclusivity, stakeholder engagement and transformational leadership, the journal welcomes interdisciplinary research reflecting the realities of contemporary organisations and the need for responsible, collaborative solutions in an AI-enabled world. The journal’s editor is Prof. Margaret A. Goralski, Ph.D, Quinnipiac University.
Emerald Publishing and PRME invite researchers, educators and practitioners from across the global responsible management community to:
- Submit their research
- Visit and engage with the journal platforms
- Apply to join advisory boards or participate as peer reviewers
PRME Signatory Members form a core audience for the journals, representing a significant global community of authors, reviewers and thought leaders in sustainability, ethics and responsible business. The journals also serve the wider responsible management and management education community, reinforcing Emerald’s position as a trusted publishing partner in this space.
Tony Roche, Chief Officer, Publishing and Strategic Relationships, Emerald Publishing said: “PRME’s global leadership in responsible management education closely aligns with Emerald’s purpose and values. Together, we’re creating inclusive, high-quality publishing platforms that support rigorous scholarship while directly addressing the ethical, social and environmental challenges shaping business and society today.
“These new journals reflect our shared commitment to advancing responsible management education through research that is impactful, accessible and globally relevant. By removing barriers to access and inviting deep engagement from the PRME community and beyond, we aim to support scholars and educators in driving positive change and shaping the next generation of responsible leaders.”
Dr. David Steingard, Head of Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) said: “Emerald’s strong commitment to human flourishing, environmental sustainability, and scholarly excellence aligns closely with PRME’s mission and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These journals will provide the global PRME scholarly community with new opportunities to publish in high-quality, rigorous, and credible outlets that are explicitly oriented toward societal impact. I anticipate that these journals will set a new benchmark for impactful scholarship, demonstrating how responsible management research can be both methodologically rigorous and directly relevant to advancing sustainability, responsible leadership, and positive global change.”
