Aims and scope

The Journal of Health Organization and Management (JHOM) is seeking contributions that push the boundaries of knowledge in health organization theory and health management. We encourage submissions that offer both empirical and theoretical perspectives, especially those that challenge conventional paradigms and offer innovative insights.

JHOM welcomes a variety of submission types, including:

  • Empirical studies that provide new insights into health organization and management practices.
  • Theoretical and conceptual papers that offer novel frameworks or reexamine existing ones in the light of current challenges and developments.
  • Review papers using a review protocol such as PRISMA, JBI or similar.
  • Critical contributions that question established norms and propose alternative approaches to healthcare management.
  • Preliminary findings, study protocols and viewpoint papers that encourage academic discourse and the development of emerging ideas.

Testimonial:
"This is one of the best and most important reads on my calendar. The articles are typically well written, and the topic areas treated, despite coming from a wide range of fields and disciplines, are almost always of interest. As an author, I have found the submission, peer-review and acceptance process fair and accessible. If you, like me, are interested in the broad fields of organizational behaviour, and managerial and leadership studies applied to health, and if you want to appreciate high quality, state of the art research and theoretical development from multiple disciplines, you will subscribe to, read or use JHOM. Better still, publish in it - it's a great outlet for key scholarship in this field."
