Emerald and AABS are delighted to announce that the 2021 AABS/Emerald case writing competition is now open.

The aim of the competition is to encourage and promote high-quality teaching case material, relevant for the realities of dynamic and emerging economies, as well as to endorse the impact of case teaching and promote the development of case-writing capabilities in the region.

To support this, there are now two new case categories in addition to the ‘best case’ award.

Submission deadline for all categories: 19 April 2021

2019/2020 winners

We are pleased to announce that the winners of the 2019/2020 AABS Emerald Case competition have been announced. They are:

  1. Triggerfish Animation Studios: The business of digital entertainment, by Craig Lowman, Mikael Samuelsson, and Geoff Bick from The University of Cape Town, Graduate School of Business.
  2. Chijioke Dozie: Dealing with Nigeria’s highly-skilled talent constraints, by Mpho D. Magau and Jaco Maritz, from Johannesburg Business School.
  3. DEV Mozambique: Food Security through Innovative Social Enterprise Development, by Boris Urban, Amanda Bowen, and Stephanie Townsend, from WITS.

Many congratulations to the authors of these winning cases.
