Aims and Objectives
Researchers in second language learning continue to deepen our understanding of pedagogy that is specific to second language contexts. The Research in Second Language Learning series aims to advance this knowledge base by providing a platform for innovative, research-driven scholarship. Its objective is to inform and enhance the decision-making processes of educators and policymakers through evidence-based insights.

Submission Guidelines and Contact
The series Research in Second Language Learning invites book proposals from scholars and researchers in the fields of second language and literacy for authored or edited volumes. Submissions from around the world are welcome. While the series maintains a broad thematic scope, it is particularly interested in works that offer innovative insights and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of second language and literacy research.

For an initial review, interested authors and editors are invited to submit a brief proposal (approximately 500 words) to the series editor, Dr. Bogum Yoon, at [email protected]. Proposals should include:

Series Editor Bio
Dr. Bogum Yoon is a Professor of Literacy Education in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership at the State University of New York at Binghamton. Her research focuses on cultural and linguistic pluralism and critical global literacies. Through a critical lens, she provides practical tools to help educators understand the social and political contexts of language and literacy education and to position themselves as agents of change. She has published numerous articles and books on these topics, including Critical Literacy for English Language Learners (Yoon, 2022, Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Education), Effective Teacher Collaboration for English Language Learners (Yoon, 2022), and Primary Language Impact on Second Language and Literacy Learning (Yoon & Pratt, 2023).
