Together with our partners The Case for Women and Forté, Emerald Publishing is pleased to announce the winners of The Case for Women 2024 case writing competition.
The Case for Women was developed to fill significant gender gaps in business school teaching case literature. According to a 13-year-long study conducted by Lesley Symons of The Case for Women, female protagonists are present in only 11% of award winning case papers.
Therefore, the competition aims to ensure that women from all backgrounds and disciplines can be made visible in case literature and in classrooms throughout the world. Our collection provides faculty with options to incorporate diverse, timely, and interesting cases in their course curricula.
The winning cases are:
1st Place – Maggie Timoney of Heineken: Shattering the Glass Ceiling and Forging a New Path
by Namratha V. Prasad, ICFAI Business School, India
2nd Place – Mira Murati: Championing Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) while tacking its Misuse and Ethical Challenges

3rd Place – Melissa Butler and ‘The Lip Bar’ – Making Beauty Inclusive
