Social Studies Research and Practice – Call for Special Issue Proposals

Social Studies Research and Practice

Social Studies Research and Practice (SSRP) is a quality peer-reviewed, electronic journal. Research and practice manuscripts in the journal address education issues in the social sciences and humanities disciplines (e.g. history, geography, civics, economics) as well as interdisciplinary perspectives.

High quality submissions examining the theory and practice of education within the field of social studies from international settings are welcome. The journal does not subscribe to a preferred research approach but encourages research promoting debate about the teaching and learning of the different subjects, is focused on the development of practice across the social studies curriculum areas, is innovative, and fosters debate about the value of research in social studies education. Submissions are rigorously peer-reviewed using a double-blind process with reviewers from relevant disciplines.

The journal aims to address education from preschool through university studies in the social sciences and humanities by:

  • Providing forums for the online dissemination of research
  • Disseminating ideas that enhance the practical aspects
  • Furthering knowledge and understanding of powerful innovative research and practice
  • Fostering debate about the implementation of research into education

If you have a special issue idea, please contact Commissioning Editor Amy Richmond ([email protected]) for a proposal form.
