Overview of special issue

The objective of this Special Issue is to gather contributions presenting state-of-the-art research dealing with all facets of the application of the advanced Information and Communications Technology (ICT) (especially cloud computing and related ICT) in Human Resources Management (HRM). It is expected that submissions would present quantitative evaluations carried out on the substantial real-world application of the advanced ICT in HRM. Further, the submission of interdisciplinary research works focusing on the interface between HRM and ICT, such as Cloud and pervasive computing, which are in particular welcome. Besides, the author(s) are encouraged to submit manuscripts with special attention to findings and results with practical applications in technological innovation, sustainable development, data and network management, and mobile services.

Indicative list of anticipated themes

  • Proven strategies to enhance the performance of employers utilizing advanced ICT applications (especially cloud computing and related ICT);
  • New ICT-based progresses in HRM, knowledge management, and organizational integration;
  • Evaluating best HR practice via ICT tools and cloud computing;
  • Leader identification and employee's behavior prediction using cloud-based artificial intelligence applications;
  • Consideration of Big-Data in HRM;
  • Analyzing the distributed and virtual team cloud-based;
  • Consideration of knowledge management, routines (performativity/ostensive/artifacts), capacity building, and organizational capability (e.g., absorptive, exploitative/explorative, dynamic capabilities) in advanced ICT applications (especially cloud computing) and HRM relationship;
  • Using cloud, pervasive and mobile computing to enhance the HRM effectiveness;
  • Consideration of the cultural influences in using cloud computing on HRM in occupational, organizational, and cross-national contexts;
  • Multi-disciplinary and multi-level studies on how to advance the employment of cloud computing from an organizational perspective;
  • Proposing new algorithms, structures, and tools for advanced ICT use (especially cloud computing) in HRM;
  • Privacy and security issues in advanced ICT applications (especially cloud computing) and HRM process;
  • Comparison of cloud-based HRM methods in various cities, cultures, and countries using SLR methods;
  • Determining the role of cloud computing in affecting human resource scheduling, development, and controlling;
  • Implementation challenges and drivers of the cloud technologies in HRM
  • Application of the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) tools in analyzing adoption issues related to advanced ICT technologies (especially cloud computing)  in HRM.
