We are very pleased to announce that Professor Shahzad Uddin has been awarded the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) 'Distinguished Academic Award', 2022 for his substantial contribution to academic accounting and his direct contribution to academic accounting and finance life in the UK.
Professor Uddin has played a key role in establishing a special interest group within BAFA on Accounting and Finance in Emerging Economies (AFEE). He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies (JAEE), of which he is the founding editor, and started the Accounting and Accountability in Emerging Economies (AAEE) conference. He is also Director of the Centre for Accountability and Global Development at Essex Business School, University of Essex, UK.
This award recognises all of these achievements, as well as Professor Uddin's commitment to his subject.
The award will be presented at this year's BAFA Annual Conference in Sheffield, UK in April. As the recipient of the award, Professor Uddin will be invited to present the keynote speech at next year's conference.
