About our policy briefs
Our 2022 'Time for Change' survey showed that 70% of academics believe that policy briefs are an important way to get research out beyond the academy. Yet nearly half of researchers are not confident when it comes to writing for policy makers.
We published our first policy briefs in 2016 and have continued to work with researchers and policy makers since then to help close the Policy Impact gap. Read more about our journey, what we've learned, the action we have taken so far and how you can get involved.

About 'Are you in?'
Our sector makes an incredible difference to the world, but it’s shrouded in unhelpful traditions, outdated measures of impact and barriers to participation.
We’re seeing green shoots of progress, but significant change will require the entire sector to commit and act. This is why we’ve relaunched our Real Impact Manifesto which asks you to join us in working towards a fairer, more equitable environment where research can have a real-world impact and those within it can reach their full potential.
We outline six commitments where we can work together for change – will you join us?
