Rajagiri College of Social Sciences and Rajagiri Business School are two autonomous institutions under Rajagiri Vidyapeedam (Rajagiri group of educational institutions). The Rajagiri Institutions are managed by the congregation of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indigenous religious congregation in the Catholic Church of India.

Canonically established in the year 1855, the CMI order has played a key role in revolutionising the education scenario in Kerala in the late nineteenth century. In the footprints of their founding father, Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara, a great visionary, educationalist, and social reformer of the nineteenth century, the CMIs have been zealously working towards providing value-based education to society, at large with the motto of relentlessly towards excellence.
