Introduction
This special issue aims to explore how intra-African trade ecosystems can advance sustainable prosperity, innovation, and economic development across Africa. It seeks to connect scholarship on trade, logistics and global value chains, governance, education, sustainability, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and social inclusion in order to generate interdisciplinary and policy-relevant insight into Africa’s development pathways. The aims will be met by curating a coherent collection of conceptual, empirical, comparative, and policy-focused papers that examine the enabling conditions, barriers, and outcomes associated with intra-African trade and broader development transformation. The issue will prioritise submissions that are methodologically rigorous, contextually grounded, and clearly relevant to scholars, practitioners, and policymakers working within African and international development contexts.
