Ever-changing markets in China
The Education University of Hong Kong, in conjunction with Pacific Accounting Review (PAR), is pleased to announce it will host a conference in Hong Kong on 17 December 2022. The conference will be a one-day event. This conference provides academics, practitioners, and regulators with a platform to share their insights into accounting and finance issues. Selected papers will be published in the Pacific Accounting Review (PAR) conference special issue, conditional on satisfactory responses to reviewer and editor comments. While the conference is planned to occur in-person, opportunities to present and participate in a hybrid format will be provided.
Conference Special Issue: Ever-changing markets in China
With the increase in China’s participation in international political and economic affairs, Chinese accounting has attracted attention from scholars. In the last few decades, there has been a growing number of research on the Chinese financial markets exploring various of issues such as corporate governance, information environment, and the financial market. There are, however, ever-changing regulations (e.g., the Belt and Road Initiative, the Strategy of Targeted Poverty Alleviation, and the Acts of Environment Protection) and business environment (e.g., stock market volatility and turnover, development of government bonds, stock market reforms) that bring new anomalies and challenges to the market.
In this Special Issue, we welcome all theoretical and empirical research papers that use contemporary research methodologies to investigate the up-to-date issues about accounting, auditing, corporate disclosure, and corporate governance in the Greater China area. Authors are also strongly advised to develop the potential implications for the rest of the world that can learn from the case of China.
