Introduction

This special issue aims to make an original contribution by providing insights into navigating geopolitical challenges and shaping the future of international events and tourism events festivals in volatile regions worldwide. As political situations evolve rapidly yet unpredictably across the globe, this special issue will enhance the understanding of resilient strategies and creative solutions developed by regional destination marketing organizations, convention centers, and event organizers in various cultural and political contexts. The special issue will add a much-needed perspective on managing events amid real-world political complexities and uncertainties by presenting case studies of successfully delivered events and conceptual frameworks tailored for different volatile regions.
