Upcoming Ground Improvement Themed Issue
Submit your abstract by 31 March 2025
Introduction
Papers are requested for a themed issue on recycled aggregates used in ground improvement and infrastructure. Specifically, papers with an implementation focus are desired that document research, case studies, or other information towards an end goal such as a standard test method, design guidance, specification recommendations, best management practices, construction sequencing, source approvals, successful use of recycled aggregates, or other implementation focused end goal.
List of topic areas
• Unbound paving applications such as subgrades, bases, unpaved surfaces, or shoulders
• Working platforms used in temporary works
• Improvement of site conditions where soft soil is present
• Erosion control
• Drainage layers
• Reactive recycled aggregates for soil stabilization
There have been numerous efforts of late to further sustainability, low carbon construction materials, and responsible use of recycled materials that evaluate technical merit, theories, develop models, and similar, but a special issue focused specifically on implementation based end goals is not common to the knowledge of the guest editors.
