Addiction Recovery Stories

We are seeking contributors for a new feature, Addiction Recovery Stories, which will be published (subject to review) in the journal Advances in Dual Diagnosis.

The series is being curated by Lisa Ogilvie and Professor Jerome Carson. To be included in the series, please submit a 1,000-word biography detailing how you overcame your addiction and entered into your recovery journey. On receipt of this, we will then send a short questionnaire to you via e-mail. Once we have received your answers to these questions, we will then compile your work into a paper. After you have approved the final version of the paper, it will be sent to the editors of the journal for approval.

Review and decision process:

Each submission is checked by the editor. At this stage, they may choose to decline or unsubmit your manuscript if it doesn’t fit the journal aims and scope, or they feel the language/manuscript quality is too low.

If they think it might be suitable for the publication, your manuscript will be reviewed by the editor and/or a member of the editorial board. Double-anonymous peer review can be performed at the request of the authors at the initial submission stage. Once these reviewers have provided their feedback, the editor may decide to accept your manuscript, request minor or major revisions, or decline your work.
