We are excited to announce a new series published in partnership between the British Educational Research Association and Emerald Publishing, for which we are now accepting proposals.
The BERA Guides are short, research-informed yet accessible introductions to key, interdisciplinary topics impacting education research and practice.

Aims and scope
The BERA Guides to Educational Research and Practice series publishes short, research-informed yet accessible introductions to key, interdisciplinary topics impacting education research and practice.
Books in the series offer a summary of the research on the topic, charting how the scholarly thought and practice on the issue has evolved over time, and offer key takeaways and suggestions for research and practice. With books in the series viewed as research and practice ‘primers’ on each topic, the series is for use by a broad academic audience, including early career and established researchers, postgraduate students, as well as practitioners where appropriate.
International in scope, although some topics will undoubtedly differ depending on national or regional context, the books draw on international literature to provide a true synthesis of the scholarly literature. In line with BERA’s and Emerald’s equality and diversity policies, the series seeks and supports a diverse range of authors to publish in the series – diverse in terms of gender, ethnicity, career stage, institution, and other attributes.
