How to… conduct interdisciplinary research

Welcome

Along with ‘impact’, ‘Interdisciplinarity’ remains one of the most pressing concerns of the academy, and one which is a driving agenda of the major funding bodies. But how to ‘do’ IDR remains challenging.

Building on our work to help support the scholarly community with drive to demonstrate the real impact of their research, we have pulled together a set of resources around conducting successful interdisciplinary research.

We’ve collated a set of tools and resources we can help you to save time, and to help you more easily achieve truly meaningful collaborations across disciplines.

Supporting interdisciplinary research with a £10,000 grant

As a clear indicator of our commitment in this field, Emerald is offering a research grant for an interdisciplinary research project in the Social Sciences that has demonstrable real world impact.

Our Interdisciplinary Award aims to find an innovative research project that promotes action on the UN Sustainable Development Goals/global challenges through collaboration of disciplines, methodology and research. We invite submissions that are interdisciplinary in approach, develop the advancement of theory and have practical relevance to benefit society in support of the Sustainable Development Goals

Submissions are invited from now, for much more information on the Award criteria and eligibility, please go to our Real Impact Awards site.
