Aims and Scope
The aims of this special issue are to provide up to date research, case studies and commentary on assessment, identification and management of dual diagnosis during pregnancy, prenatally and into motherhood.
We are seeking submissions that cover any of the following themes:
NB: The following topics are indicative and not exhaustive. Papers on other topics under the main theme are welcome.
- Assessment and identification of mental health and substance use
- Epidemiology of dual diagnosis during pregnancy, prenatally and into motherhood
- Comparison of women with and without children
- Treatment approaches and their effectiveness
- Impact of substance use during pregnancy, the perinatal period and motherhood

Submitted articles must not have been previously published, nor should they be under consideration for publication anywhere else, while under review for this journal.
The Guest Editor will conduct an initial screening of submitted papers. Those judged suitable for the special issue will be sent to at least two independent referees for double blind peer review, after which submissions may be recommended for revisions and further review, acceptance or rejection.
