Homicide Investigations: Modern UK Perspectives
A special issue of
Journal of Criminological Research, Policy and Practice
Guest Editor: Dr Martin O’Neill, Canterbury Christ Church University
This special issue of Journal of Criminological Research, Policy and Practice aims to address the lack of research on criminal investigation into homicide, together with the challenges of investigative effectiveness, legitimacy and status. This special issue will tap into modern perspectives in light of issues such as problems with recruitment, disclosure, workload, the growing importance of science over craft and greater reliance on the quality of criminal investigation with cuts to the police, CPS and legal aid.
We welcome submissions to this special issue. Topics covered include (but are not limited to):
Homicide reviews
Cold case investigations
Modern Investigative problems (resources, guidance, law)
SIO decision making.
