About the Hotel
During the long months between the start of school and the end of
the year, have you thought about finding a warm, friendly and
responsive group of highly educated researchers who wish to
share their stimulating research in meeting rooms and around the
swimming pools? Why not relax after the meetings by observing
the beautiful sunsets from rooms overlooking the intercostal
waterway, hiking on the expansive nature trails, enjoying the
luxurious spa, or the Jacuzzi, or by playing tennis on one of 6 clay
tennis courts?
The Sanibel Marriott is an 87-acre island resort at the entry to
Sanibel and Captiva Islands. The Hotel is 45 minutes by taxi, Uber,
or rental car on a four-lane highway from the Fort Myers
International Airport. The Sanibel houses four restaurants,
including a steakhouse and a second-floor deck overlooking the
pools and the intercostal waterway. Whether in a meeting room or
having breakfast, this is the perfect atmosphere to spawn the
exchange of research ideas or engage in informal discussion. The
Sanibel Island beaches are among the best for shelling and for
sunbathing. Pictures of the Hotel and resort are attached to the
end of this call for papers. The outdoor temperature in November
is around the 80’s.
The conference rate for the hotel room is $149 per night. If you
wish to extend your stay at the conference rate, contact the hotel
at the time of registration. Hotel reservation by must be received
on or before 5 PM, Monday, October 15, 2018.

What makes this conference special is that your registration fee
includes three breakfasts in the indoor or outdoor restaurant and
three lunches with distinguished speakers. It also includes
opportunities for fascinating 20-minute presentations by
facilitators who provide a breadth of knowledge and receptive
atmospheres. Further, the dinner cruise, at an additional $64.00
per person, on the Marriott Princess Yacht on Thursday evening is
a memorable experience and a great time to network.
The progressive mission of AAERI is to encourage the growth of
educational research in all fields and to provide a bridge for
inquiry, discovery, and findings across all disciplines. This
international conference is uniquely different from other larger
conferences. The reflective and congenial atmosphere that AAERI
provides ensures the opportunity for both intellectual growth and
networking. Whether you present or attend, you will want to return
each year and encourage your colleagues to participate, as I have
since I joined the AAERI.
The AAERI annual conference provides an opportunity to learn
from leading scholars and to engage in stimulating discussions
with experts from around the United States and the world. On
behalf of the AAERI Executive Board, I extend a friendly invitation
for you to join the 2018 Annual AAERI Conference and be a part of
an organization that is making a difference.

TESTIMONIALS
As the past president of the AAERI, I have really enjoyed being part of
the growth of the AAERI from being less diverse to a very diverse
organization. Dr. Mervin Lynch, the founder was influential in
nurturing many faculty in acquiring successful tenure and promotion
and to grow as professional educators. The association has also
grown from just being a national organization to an international
level that accommodates researchers from local, international and
international.
(Dr. PhilliphMasilaMutisya,Chair, Faculty Senate,Professor of
Education at North Carolina Central University).
I thoroughly enjoyed attending my first AAERI National Conference in
November of 2017. The professional comradery, the scholarly
presentations and lectures, and the networking and research
opportunities were outstanding in every way. The setting was
beautiful, but even more inspiring was the climate of personal
respect and genuine friendships which motivated me, led to deep
reflection and thoughtful dialogue, and left me looking forward to
next year’s visit to this amazing conference. (Dr. Dixie Abernathy,
Assistant Professor, Director, Master of Arts in Educational
Leadership Program, Wayland H. Cato, Jr. School of Education,
Queens University at Charlotte).
I had the privilege to attend and present at the 2017 AAERI
Conference which provided for a rich and valuable experience. The
AAERI Conference provided an intimate venue that allowed for the
opportunity to truly network and engage in discussion about my
research and other topics of interest throughout the conference,
receiving thoughtful feedback and ideas from academic minds from
across the globe. AAERI is an interdisciplinary organization
dedicated to the advancement of education through research and
evidence-based practice. I highly recommend others to submit to
present either a poster, roundtable discussion, or presentation at the
upcoming conference. I think you will find it be a valued experience
whether you are a graduate student, an early career professional, or
even a well-seasoned professional. (Dr. Dina Schwam, Project
Director, Center for the Study of Adult Literacy (CSAL), Georgia State
University).
