Clinical Governance and Leadership

Special issue call for papers from Journal of Health Organization and Management

The guest editors of this special issue are seeking contributions from across the spectrum of Clinical Governance (CG) research. We are interested in both empirical research articles as well as conceptual pieces. In this regard we welcome articles covering (but not limited to) the following topics:

• What is CG? What are its core components and how does it differ from other leadership and services organization models?
• What models of CG are there, especially if hospitals and health services each develop their own structures for facilitating CG? How do different structures compare? How do arrangements in different countries compare?
• What processes do health systems and services providers use to ‘create an environment in which excellence in clinical care will flourish’?
• How has CG been evaluated, in general terms and via specific projects? In this sense, we welcome research articles into CG research and evaluation methods, processes, performance and impact on any component of health care delivery. Quantitative, qualitative and mixed-method studies are welcomed.
