Editorial objectives

The Asian Journal on Quality (AJQ) provides an understanding of the academic and theoretical background, with a speciality in quality issues faced in Asia, thus giving companies a better insight into quality and a competitive edge.


AJQ provides those involved in quality management, both in research and in practice, with ideas, news, research fi ndings, case examples and a forum for discussion on quality management and its related fields.

Topical coverage includes but is not limited to:

  • Measurement of quality
  • Cost of quality
  • Efficiency and cost trade-off in pursuing high quality performance
  • TQM/Quality/Excellence Models
  • Tools and techniques for quality management and improvement
  • Process management and factors that make for change
  • Implementation and maintenance strategies
  • Strategic tactical and operational issues for high quality performance
  • Quality perception and different quality concepts in Asia
  • Latest quality improvements in Asia

Submission guidelines and further information

High quality submissions are sought from academics, researchers and practitioners from around the world. The journal draws on insight and contributions most typically in the Asian business world exclusively. Contributors should spell out the academic insights in relation to the practical use of their work. Research, case studies and examples can be cited from the public and private sectors of industry and commerce, including manufacturing, health, education, local government, professional service fi rms and many others.

Case study articles should normally specify:
  • Background and content
  • Objectives, i.e. you should specify a concrete goal of the case
  • Salient events
  • Results, and how they were obtained
  • Implications for others involved in quality management.

Each paper is reviewed by the Editor and, if it is judged suitable for publication, it is then sent to two referees for double blind peer review.

Papers should be a maximum of 6,000 words in length.
