Special issue call for papers from International Journal of Culture, Tourism and Hospitality Research

International Journal of Culture, Tourism and Hospitality Research (IJCTHR)
Call for Papers: Deadline for full paper submission: 31 August 2010

SPECIAL ISSUE: Building Tourism Knowledge through Quantitative Analysis – The
Legacy of Josef Mazanec

Special Issue Editors:
• Andreas H. Zins, MODUL University Vienna and Vienna University of Economics
and Business, [email protected]
• Sara Dolnicar, University of Wollongong, [email protected]

This special issue has a clear mission and dedication at the same time: articles published
should be related to the contributions Prof. Josef Mazanec has made throughout his lifetime
to tourism research. Prof. Josef Mazanec is retiring in 2010. We take his retirement as a
stimulus to compile research which was inspired by Mazanec’s work. Submitted manuscripts
can be in line with perspectives and principles he advocated or critical of them. Overall, this
special issue will demonstrate the impact one scholar can have on the entire scientific
community of a particular research field.

Papers may be either conceptual or empirical in nature. They should not have been published
or submitted elsewhere. All papers should include a comprehensive review and analysis of
the literature and an elaboration on research strategy. Conceptual papers are expected to
provide strong arguments and new theoretical perspectives.

Possible topics are the following:
• Tools and techniques of marketing science
• Marketing planning
• Decision support systems
• Tourism and hospitality management
• Structural modelling and causality
• Adaptive analyses techniques.

Two-step selection process:
1. If you intend to contribute to this special issue please send a one-page abstract to one
of the guest editors no later than March 31, 2010. After a desk screening phase we
will invite a limited number of authors to submit their full paper.
2. Full paper submissions are to be submitted to one of the guest editors no later than
August 31, 2010. All submissions will be subject to the double-blind review process
common to the regular journal policy.
The publication is scheduled for mid of 2011.
