It revolves around three fundamental aspects of organizational generativity, namely: generative knowledge and organizational life, collective action and the appreciative inquiry summit, and sustainable inter-generative dynamics.

Guided by the ethos of Appreciative Inquiry, the book series supports an ongoing, distributed inquiry into the true, the good, the better and the possible. It is dedicated to advancing a "scholarship of the positive" and "positive scholarship." 


The Advances in Appreciative Inquiry series advocates a science of positive human organization, positive relationships and positive modalities of change, in order to create world benefit for individuals, organizations and communities. It is committed to the advancement of Appreciative Inquiry as an approach to organizational and human development, and as an interdisciplinary, non-deficit theory of positive change processes in human systems. The Editors

Michel Avital is Professor of IT Management at Copenhagen Business School. The study of how information technology promotes innovation and extraordinary outcomes is a central theme of Michel's work. Building on positive modalities of inquiry, his research focuses on information and organization with an emphasis on the social aspects of information technologies. He has published articles on topics such as systems design, creativity, innovation, collaboration and competition, green IT and sustainable value, positive organizational scholarship and appreciative inquiry. David L. Cooperrider is the Fairmount Minerals Professor of Social Entrepreneurship at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University. Professor Cooperrider is past Chair of the National Academy of Management's OD Division and has lectured and taught at Harvard, Stanford, University of Chicago, Katholieke University in Belgium, MIT, University of Michigan, Cambridge and others. David is founder and Chair of the Fowler Center for Sustainable Value. The center's core proposition is that sustainability is the business opportunity of the 21st century, indeed that every social and global issue of our day is an opportunity to ignite industry leading eco-innovation, social entrepreneurship, and new sources of value.
