Smart and Sustainable Built Environment has won the status of CIB Encouraged Journal

CIB (International Council for Building) and Emerald Group Publishing are very pleased to announce that Smart and Sustainable Built Environment (SASBE), a new journal to be launched in 2012, has been granted the status of CIB Encouraged Journal, demonstrating relevance to the CIB mission and the importance of SASBE in this field.

SASBE aims to inform research and industry practice on integrated approaches to developing smart and sustainable built environments, linking together the various sustainable targets, bottom-lines, endpoints and project deliverables through whole development cycles and project processes.

The scope of SASBE is closely linked to the objectives and goals of the CIB W116 “Smart and Sustainable Build Environments”, founded and now jointly-ordinated by SASBE Editor, Prof. Jay Yang. The journal is closely aligned with the Sustainable Development theme, a priority agenda for the CIB.
In addition, CIB W116 established the international conference series CIB International Conferences on Smart and Sustainable Built Environment (SASBE), with three events successfully held in Brisbane (SASBE2003), Shanghai (SBASE2006) and Delft (SASBE2009). The fourth, SASBE2012, is being organised for Sao Paulo, Brazil and the fifth, SASBE2012, earmarked for Cape Town, South Africa. The SASBE journal, in support of these conferences, will provide strong and continuing world focus on the sustainability agenda in construction and built environment.

The Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Jay Yang, is currently inviting papers for submission at any time. If you would like the opportunity to get published in the inaugural volume, the submission deadlines for issues 1, 2 and 3 are respectively end July 2011, January 2012 and April 2012. All papers submitted are subject to double blind peer review by relevant academics and researchers.
