CALL FOR PAPERS
Maritime Business Review
Special Issue on “Sustainable and Innovative Marine Studies and Maritime Transport Researches”
Ocean related economic activities have substantially increased since the promotion of globalisation by the WTO in 1995. According to the United Nations (2017), global seaborne trade and international shipping, offshore non-living resource extraction, offshore renewable energy generation, marine food processing, and coastal, marine, and maritime tourism are some of the often reported ocean-related economic activities. Furthermore, the World Bank (2017) indicates “Blue Economy” should focus beyond economic activities and defines it as “Sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, and to improve livelihoods, and jobs while preserving the health of ocean ecosystem''. The same term has also been widely used and defined by various National and International institutions to fit their corporates’ missions and goals. The rapid growth in ocean-related economic activities has attracted key research interest among industry practitioners and academicians from various disciplines. How to adopt innovative tools to manage and sustain the future development of the marine and maritime industry becomes an important research topic.
This special issue calls for papers from authors attending the “Maritime Studies and Marine Innovation Conference (MSMI, 11th December 2020),” which is organized by the College of Maritime Studies and Management, Chiang Mai University, Samut Sakhon, Thailand. Authors who cannot attend the conference session are also encouraged to submit their papers to this issue. The submission of the full manuscript for this issue must cover one of the following maritime business related topics:
● Emerging trends and management styles in maritime business administration
● Marketing practices and innovation in the maritime industry
