Indigenous knowledge systems and mental health

Call for papers for: Journal of Mental Health Training, Education and Practice

Guest Editors: Professor Tholene Sodi, Professor Di Bailey

The special issue of Journal of Mental Health, Training Education and Practice will focus on issues surrounding indigenous knowledge systems in mental health  in order to explore how knowledge systems contribute to our understanding of mental health conditions in different societies and countries and how this influences approaches to support, treatment and service delivery.

We welcome submissions to this special issue. Topics covered include (but are not limited to):

  • Traditional health practitioners and mental health
  • Traditional healing and mental health
  • Mental health issues as experienced by black and minority ethnic groups
  • Relationships between traditional health practices and mainstream mental health services

 

Deadline and Submission Details

The submission deadline for all papers is 31st July 2021

The publication date of this special issue is early 2022
