About SIFICO 2021:

The K J Somaiya Institute of Management International Finance Conference (SIFICO) has been organised by Centre of Excellence in Capital Markets along with Finance and Law Department of the institute for the last nine years.

The Conference is currently in its 10th edition titled ‘COVID–19 and Financial Markets’. It aims at bringing together academicians, doctoral students, industry practitioners and researchers from academic, research and regulatory organisations to deliberate on theoretical work, empirical findings and policy implications related to the banking, financial markets and services.

The forthcoming 10th Conference focuses on the COVID-19 crisis and financial markets. COVID-19 has seriously impacted the financial markets across the globe. The banking and financial sector in India as well as abroad is increasingly facing a variety of risks due to COVID-19. SIFICO 2021 aims to cover various issues and concerns that are related to COVID and have insightful deliberations by the researchers.

SIFICO has partnered with the Journal of Indian Business Research, a double-blind peer-reviewed journal, to produce a special issue on the theme of the conference. Potential areas of focus include:

  • Strategies required to face the challenges posed by COVID-19 in financial markets
  • Comparison of pre and post COVID financial markets
  • Challenges of COVID in financial markets
  • Paradigm shift in fund mobilization in the “new normal” world
  • Sustainable development of financial markets
