Overview of special issue
This Issue will be building on the promotion and dissemination of recent digital construction efforts which have supported the responsiveness of the industry to global events. Building Information Modeling (BIM), smart buildings, smart cities, robotic construction and other digital applications have in recent times been proposed and promoted for integration into the AEC processes. On-going work is recommending that the industries continue to improve processes with the changing digital climate which can then act as cornerstone of future resilience. This issue will seek to concentrate on the state of the art and also explore work that is promoting the direction of these applications. Case studies will be encouraged but conceptual frameworks, models, integrated systems etc will be desirable. Also any research that demonstrates industry uptake, resilience and responsiveness to date would also be entertained.
