The theme of SDGs is a multidimensional study involving economic, financial, social and philosophical topics. Such a multidisciplinary area raises the prospect of its study abundantly. The central objective of this Special Issue is to emphasize the concept and application of ethical/social approaches to financing to attain sustained wellbeing in economy and society at large.

The problem of deficit, debt and debt cycles have been pressing macroeconomic policy problems in the field of economic and financial stabilization. A fresh visitation to this field by studying the malaise and alternative dynamics of debt stabilization with interest-free instruments invokes a rise in productivity of the real economy and its ushering in of wellbeing for all. This area draws freshly serious attention in its comparative perspective with SDGs with new approach to financial engineering under the ethical/social umbrella.

We welcome submissions to this special issue. Topics covered include (but are not limited to):

  • Comparative study of debt-equity topic in the presence of interest-free regime: alternative perspectives;
  • Comparative study of debt-equity swaps by replacing interest rates by productive rates of returns: the Islamic economic and financial case;
