The editorial team at Data Technologies and Applications (DTA) would like to invite researchers to apply to become members of its editorial board in different roles.
The journal is looking for researchers in data science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), data engineering, Knowledge Representation (KR) and related areas of inquiry, with a focus on applied research.
All applicants will be evaluated on their own merits and their respective fit of research record. The initial term for a board member would be 3 years.
Our expectations for Editorial Board Members (EBM) would be that you would participate in the following activities:
- Act as a reviewer for papers within your area of expertise as invited by the Editor (2-4 reviews a year).
- Encourage your network to participate in reviewing for the journal.
- Promote the journal at conferences you attend and within your network.
EBM are expected to have more than 5 years of postdoctoral research experience relevant to the journal and experience in peer review at DTA or other journals related to the topics of DTA.
In the case of Associate Editors (AE), the expectation is that they contribute with their expertise to the following activities:
- Principally, managing the review process of submissions to the journal, adhering to research ethics and integrity standards of the review process.
- Advising in the future development of the journal when required, including suggesting changes in the scope and topics, or in other editorial policies.
- Occasionally when needed acting as reviewers of papers.
Benefits of the role:
- Your name listed on the journal website.
- Early access to new research, helping you keep abreast of developments in the field.
- The opportunity to network with colleagues and peers (editors or board members) and to influence the journal's future development.
AE are expected to be senior researchers with more than 10 years of postdoctoral experience, and have some previous experience as editorial members of scholarly journals. Other editorial experience is also relevant, as for example serving as guest editor of special issues, editor of scientific books or organiser of relevant conferences/events, or relevant roles in scientific societies.
If you are interested in applying to become an editorial board member, please send your CV to the Editor-in-Chief Prof Miguel-Angel Sicilia ([email protected]), indicating if you want to be considered for EBM or AE, and if you would like to join as EBM if you are not selected as AE. Please include links to your Google Scholar, ORCID profile or similar.
Please note that we will not be able to get back to everyone individually, but will be in touch if your expertise and other internal criteria matches that of the journal. Since we aim at having an editorial board that is geographically diverse and that covers all relevant areas in which DTA receives submissions regularly, candidates will be selected accounting for those criteria and not only their CV.
