To build more equal societies we need strong democracies, where everyone has an equal voice, holding governments and institutions to account.

Right now, democracy faces potential challenges from the global pandemic, the digital transformation of society, the climate crisis, and nationalist and populist movements around the world. Research helps us understand how to keep our democracies strong and vibrant, and hold governments accountable so that people everywhere can thrive.
