Introduction
This issue aims to provide timely insights into how the current agricultural credit and financial landscape is relevant for ongoing discussions about the next Farm Bill cycle, which begins this year. The Farm Bill largely shapes the tone for U.S. agricultural policy; there are important considerations from all sectors of the farm economy, given the amount the U.S. economy overall has been altered since the last Farm Bill was passed in 2018.
This special issue will advance knowledge on agricultural lending and related topics that can inform the upcoming Farm Bill and agricultural policy generally. We intend to achieve this goal by soliciting papers from a wide variety of agricultural and applied economists, with diverse specializations, including labor, trade, or finance. The focus will be on recent topics that relate to changes to the agricultural credit and financial landscape from 2018 onwards, including evaluation of government programs.
Authors are requested to make their submission before the deadline of August 30, if possible. Authors are recommenced to contact the guest editors in advance to make sure their topic is suitable for the special issue.
