European Perspectives on Safeguarding Older People: Voice, Choice, and Control

This is an open call for papers that explore aspects of involvement and participation in adult safeguarding, as well as related areas (e.g. co-production, vulnerability, human rights etc). Many of the adult safeguarding referrals concern older people and yet their voices on this topic are seldom heard. By bringing together a collection of papers on this topic we aim to raise the profile of this important aspect of safeguarding practice.

We thus invite papers that:

  • Provide insight into practice in this area across different European countries
  • Promote/ include the voices of older people and/or focus on the experiences of older people
  • Focus on aspects of involvement and participation in adult safeguarding
