Introduction

Sustainability is a central and hot topic in accounting and finance today. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, academics, industry professionals, and policymakers in the finance and accounting disciplines are eager to understand the impact of these new developments and trends on companies and investors. We are particularly concerned about the changes and impacts that sustainable development and artificial intelligence technology advances have brought to companies and individuals in decision-making.

In this Special Issue, we welcome all theoretical and empirical research papers that use contemporary research methodologies to investigate the current issues about accounting and finance related to sustainability and AI topics in the Pacific region. Authors are also strongly advised to develop potential implications for the rest of the world, which can be learned from the case of the Pacific region.
