"Getting their act together: Management practices of Palestinian Israeli women entrepreneurs"

Sibylle and Mohammed commented "When we learned about the possibility to apply for the 2013 Emerald/EFMD MENA Management Research Fund Award, we decided to try for an innovative attempt aimed at understanding actual management practices of Palestinian women who succeeded in starting their own business. These women obviously managed to overcome their socio-economic and socio-cultural realities since they succeeded to establish their businesses. The Award money enables us to investigate what these women owners actually did and do in terms of marketing, financing, dealing with suppliers, production, human resource management and juggling family and business. We are very grateful for the referee committee to have chosen our proposal and hope that the outcomes of our work will reveal practical implications enabling the development of programs for fostering women entrepreneurship in Israel in particular and in other MENA countries in general. We would like to thank Emerald Group Publishing and the EFMD for the Award acknowledging our work and for making it possible to conduct this study. "
