Indian Management and the Global Business
Special issue call for papers from Journal of Indian Business Research
Guest Editors: Keyoor Purani, Saji Gopinath, Rudra Sensarma, Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, India.
The theme of this special issue encompasses the influencing of international perspectives through insights found in Indian realities as well as enhancing Indian thought leadership through engagement with international best practices. Over the past couple of decades, India underwent a process of greater integration with the outside world. However, the economic crisis of 2008 challenged some of the accepted wisdom of practicing management in a globalized world. Does Indian management thought and practice contain any lessons for the global business? Do experiences of Indian organizations offer any insights in this globally turbulent environment? Do global models and multinational practices have any implications for Indian management? Seeking answers to such questions, we invite papers that will reflect on lessons from the past, critically analyze current imperatives and develop a path for the future of management theory, education and practice. Within the overall theme of the special issue, authors may choose to submit papers from any area of business research.
