International Construction: Disputes and Conflict Resolution

Special issue call for papers from International Journal of Law in the Built Environment

The International Journal of Law in the Built Environment, first published in 2009, is now firmly established as a leading international journal in its field and received the Emerald ‘Best New Journal Award’ in 2012.  For this issue, the Guest Editor, Dr Steve Donohoe  (Associate Professor in Construction, Environmental and Property Law at Plymouth University, UK) invites papers on the theme: “International Construction: Disputes and Conflict Resolution”.

Introduction to the special issue

International Construction is a major global industry often responsible for up to 10 percent of a nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Construction disputes and conflict can consume vast resources of time and money so it is important that the world takes steps to minimise disputes and conflict in international construction.

You are invited to submit high quality papers which explore the salient legal issues and emerging trends in the field of international construction disputes and conflict resolution practice.  The aim of this themed issue is to present contemporary research into the numerous perspectives in international construction concerning disputes and conflict which will be of interest to legal scholars, construction  researchers, policy-makers and practitioners.
