Video: Julian Dierkes on the global intensification of supplemental education
Julian Dierkes is a co-editor of "Out of the Shadows "Out of the Shadows The Global Intensification of Supplementary Education" Volume 22.
Praise for "Out of the Shadows The Global Intensification of Supplementary Education" Volume 22 (Janice Aurini, Julian Dierkes and Scott Davies, Eds.):
"This set of essays and methods for studying the phenomenon of supplementary education on a global basis can serve as an excellent research guide. In addition, it provides a reasonable sense of the movement of this form of schooling from its former position in the shadows into the sometimes harsh light of public policy and shifting market forces."
– Michael McVey, Eastern Michigan University, USA, in Int Rev Educ 2016;62(2).
Aims and Scope
The mission of the International Perspectives on Education and Society (IPES) book series is to provide evidence and explanations of research and its application in the field of comparative and international education. The series also provides an opportunity for critical analysis of the field itself, which is often neglected in the periodical literature and edited volumes published in the field.
IPES is comprised of an Annual Review of Comparative and International Education (ARCIE) as well as other themed volumes. The annual review volume reviews where scholars and professionals in comparative and international education have been and where they are headed as a field, and offers stimulating observations about where the field could or should be going.
The IPES series is a blind peer-reviewed publication. Manuscripts are sent for blind peer review to at least three external reviewers selected for their expertise in the relevant area or topic. Volume proposals, which address the mission of the IPES series, are welcome and encouraged.
