Emerald Publishing organizes academic panel examining the relationship between education and racial justice

‘Advocacy in Academia: How can educators promote racial justice?’ to be held May 17 at Northeastern University

This panel is inspired by a special issue of the journal Equality, Diversity and Inclusion titled “Broadening the conversation: why Black Lives Matter.” The contributors will discuss real-world ways of translating theory in the classroom and different approaches to fostering intelligent and thoughtful conversations around social and racial justice by using the guiding principles of Black Lives Matter.

  • Dr. Courtney E. Cole, Assistant Professor of Communication at Regis College

Co-moderators include Dr. Nicole Aljoe, Associate Professor of English and African American Studies and incoming Director of the African American Studies department at Northeastern University; along with Emerald Publishing’s Cara DuBois.

This event is free and open to the public. Northeastern Crossing is accessible via public transit off of the Ruggles stop on the Orange Line and the Museum of Fine Arts stop on the Green Line. Parking is available at the Renaissance Parking Garage at 835 Columbus Avenue.
