The Beyster Foundation for Enterprise Development launch annual award programme

Innovative research published within the Journal of Participation and Employee Ownership to be awarded best paper prize

Bingley, United Kingdom, 23 March 2018 – Emerald Publishing, along with The Beyster Foundation for Enterprise Development(BFED) - a development to support research, education and services that advance innovation, entrepreneurship and broad-based ownership, is pleased to announce the launch of an annual award programme for excellence in research published in the new Journal of Participation and Employee Ownership (JPEO)

Editors of the JPEO will review all papers published within the journal at the end of every year, selecting one paper to receive the Best Paper Prize for that year.  The winning paper and author(s) will be announced the following year and will receive: a plaque, $1,500 award from The Beyster Foundation for Enterprise Development, and recognition at the Beyster Symposium, in June 2019 in La Jolla, California.

The Beyster Symposium is administered by the Program on Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing at Rutgers University’s School of Management and Labor Relations, which convenes the largest academic symposium of scholars involved in the interdisciplinary study of employee stock ownership and participation.

“The way to get employees to treat the businesses for which they work like owners is to make them owners and empower these owners.  Simple statement but what is meaningful in practice and policy?”  states Mary Ann Beyster, Manager of the Beyster Foundation for Enterprise Development. “Now with the Journal of Participation and Employee Ownership, there will be a go-to-journal that brings the best of interdisciplinary research in this field together to advance better learning through better access.”

This award programme has been designed to identify innovative research in the broad area of employee participation and shared capitalism by emerging scholars in the field, including all early career researchers as well as late career scholars who are new entrants to the field.
