BEPAM only the third journal in the world to be conferred prestigious ‘CIB recognised’ status

BEPAM becomes one of the select few journals to be recognized by world-leading building and construction research and innovation association

Bingley, United Kingdom, 18 December 2017 – Emerald’s Built Environment Project and Asset Management (BEPAM) has become only the third journal in the world to be recognized by International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB).

CIB is the world's foremost platform for international co-operation and information exchange in the area of building and construction research and innovation, so becoming a ‘recognised journal’ – which involves a stringent process – represents a real breakthrough for BEPAM and its team.

Dr Wim Bakens, CIB Senior Programme Manager, said: "After a comprehensive assessment of the journal’s consistency, quality and relevance, CIB has concluded that BEPAM is the third journal in our domain that now deserves the status of CIB Recognised Journal."

Professor Mohan M. Kumaraswamy, Editor-in-Chief of BEPAM, said: “Not long after our launch in 2011, BEPAM succeeded in receiving ‘CIB encouraged’ status in 2013. We are now honoured to become the third journal to have been conferred the prestigious ‘CIB recognised’ status.

“We thank our stakeholders, who have joined in BEPAM's onward and upward journey through cutting-edge advances in knowledge and leading-edge contributions to best practice.

BEPAM lives up to its name as the Journal of Built Environment Project and Asset Management, being the only journal of its kind that links project management to asset management of building and civil engineering infrastructure.

BEPAM helps to bridge this gap by unveiling and spotlighting valuable synergies between independent developments in each domain, which are served separately by existing journals in Project Management and Facilities Management respectively. BEPAM helps catalyze cross-fertilization of these hitherto separately ‘cultivated’ fields.”

Dr Gemma Hemming, Publisher of BEPAM, said: “We’re delighted that BEPAM has been awarded the prestigious ‘CIB recognised’ status. It’s testament to the hard work and dedication of the Editorial team, and the invaluable contributions from reviewers and authors.

“We’re pleased to continue our strong links with CIB and we look forward to working with them in future.”
