Latest ABS Rankings Highlight Quality and Impact for Emerald Research

Increase in rankings and title inclusion to Association of Business School (ABS) Academic Journal Quality Guide demonstrates strong progress

Worldwide, 10 March 2015 – Emerald Group Publishing, global publisher linking research and practice to the benefit of society, has announced a 50% increase in title inclusion following the release of the 2015 Association of Business School (ABS) Academic Journal Quality Guide, with over 100 titles now included.  Higher average rankings across Emerald’s portfolios demonstrate research quality and impact, including standout titles in Operations, Logistics & Quality and HR & Organizational Behaviour.

The Journal of Managerial Psychology, part of Emerald’s HR & Organizational Behaviour collection, achieved a significant jump in rating to three  (from one in 2010), indicating that the journal publishes ‘original and well executed research papers’ and is ‘highly regarded’*. The International Journal of Operations  from Emerald’s Operations, Logistics & Quality collection was awarded a four rating (from three in 2010), cementing it as one of a handful of leading international journals, with ‘high submission and low acceptance rates’ and the ‘highest citation impact factors within their field’*.  Both journals are also included in Scopus and Thomson Reuters Social Science Citation Index.

In addition, six further Emerald book series are now included in the ABS quality guide, reflecting the growth of Emerald’s books portfolio with quality and impactful content.

Tony Roche, Emerald’s Publishing Director, comments: “Emerald title inclusion has increased by 50%, reflecting the continued growth in our influence and the quality of our content.

“The ABS guide is compiled using editorial peer review, expert opinion and bibliometric data to allow authors and users to identify high quality titles with broad impact. The fact that 118 of our titles are included within the 2015 guide is testament to the dedication of our authors, editors, reviewers and editorial board members, whom we congratulate for their contributions in achieving this excellent result.”
