Emerald and Singapore Management University are delighted to announce the results of the SMU/Emerald Teaching Case Competition

Congratulations go to Professor Terence P. C. Fan of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at the Singapore Management University for his winning paper " ‘Way Smarter’: Valuair in the Budget Airline Industry”. Professor Fan will receive a prize of $1,500 and publication in Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies (EEMCS).

Professor Fan comments on his success,"I thank SMU, the Centre for Management Practice, and the Lee Kong Chian School of Business for giving me the opportunity to work with world-class scholars and industry practitioners to develop and deepen our knowledge of Asia-specific management practices and experience. I’d also like to thank Emerald Publishing for their support and for contributing to this exciting academic development.”

Emerald would also like to congratulate Dr Srinivas K. Reddy of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business and Christopher Dula of the Centre of Management Practice, both at the Singapore Management University, for their highly commended case, “Gillette’s “Shave India Movement”: Razor Sharp against the Stubble”. They will receive $500 and will also be published in EEMCS, subject to peer review.

This competition is the first time that Emerald and the Singapore Management University have partnered together to encourage case writing in South East Asia. Submissions of teaching case studies with a South East Asian focus are still welcome for publication in EEMCS.
