Journal of Science and Technology Policy Management (ISSN: 2053-4620) a peer-reviewed journal is published by Emerald Publishing LTD, calls for papers for a themed issue on “National Innovation Systems of Iran.”

Overview
Despite the comprehensive economic sanctions against Iran, the country has gone through a significant industrial transformation during last three decades.   All indicators point to the industrial "takeoff" of the country, even though Iran still lags many emerging economies technologically.  Most if not all the advances in industrialization and technological growth was the result of Iranian government’s mobilization of resources. However, despite two books and one Special Section in a leading journal on the topic of science and technology in Iran a significant number of contributions on the national, regional, and sectoral innovations of the Iranian economy remain to be investigated and published.

To inform the  English speaking readers about the technological development and the role of innovation systems in Iran, a Special Issue of   Journal of Science and Technology Policy Management has been  devoted to contributions on the topic of “ Technological Innovation Systems in Iran.”

We are especially interested in contributions on the following topics:
1. National Innovation system of Iran: Experiences and Achievements
2. Regional subcultures and innovation system in Iran
3. Sectoral innovation systems in Iran: The successful and failed models
4. Technological innovation systems in Iran: Excellence in some technologies
5. The successful and failed enterprises in the Iranian innovation system
6. Innovation survey in Iran
7. The impact of economic sanctions on the development of technology in Iran
8. The role of Iran-China cooperation on development of science & technology in Iran
9. Technological advances in  the key industries such as  defense, petrochemical, and petroleum industries
10. Other related topics
