Emerald will be exhibiting at Frankfurt Book Fair 2016
New high level recruits appointed as part of Emerald’s significant Books investment, plus partnership with Peerwith announced to provide author services
This new team includes Philippa Grand, Editorial Director for Social Science Books and Pete Baker, who will head up Emerald’s Scholarly and Professional Business, Finance and Economics Books publishing division.
Frankfurt is the industry’s main books event and is an important focus for Emerald as it continues to make a significant investment in its books programme.
While at the book fair, Emerald’s representatives will be providing the opportunity for the academic community to work with Emerald to author books - on topics including: Accounting and Finance; Economics; HR and Organizational Behaviour; Information and Knowledge Management; International Business; Strategy; Tourism and Hospitality; and Sociology - as Emerald continues to grow its books programme within business, management and finance and the social sciences.
In addition, Emerald will be introducing its new partnership with Peerwith
, an online marketplace that matches academics seeking support for their work with experts who can help, whether that be with language editing, illustrations and animations, statistical review or other services to improve manuscripts, with academic experts.
Harriet Bell, Marketing Director at Emerald said: “We are currently working on a solution that will enable Emerald authors to seamlessly access experts on the Peerwith platform.
“The solution is designed to improve chances of acceptance and reduce the time and effort that authors are spending on preparing their manuscript for publication. With the aim of developing and nurturing our author and editor community and support their progression within their chosen field, we are also inviting our networks of authors and editors to sign up to the market place as experts within their field.
“We want to build long term relationships with our authors and support them at all stages of their career whilst helping them to increase the impact of their work. This partnership with Peerwith will help us make the publishing process smoother for our authors and editors whilst also helping them to connect with peers in their field. This partnership will be fully launched in January 2017.”
Joris van Rossum, founder of Peerwith, said: “Our flexible technology allows a fully integrated author service which is fully customizable to the needs of the publisher.
“We are proud to be partnering with Emerald at such an exciting time as it enters its 50th year in the publishing industry and continues to heavily invest in their author community.”
Visit Emerald at Frankfurt from 19-23 October in Hall 4.2, Stand H66 to meet the team and find out more about Emerald’s new books programme.
