Emerald helps deliver digital strategy for UFKH
Lizzie Hall seconded as Digital Operations Manager to global initiative designed to unlock the potential of strategic foresight
London, United Kingdom, 28 April 2016 - Emerald Group Publishing
is pleased to have made a significant contribution to social enterprise Unlocking Foresight Know How CIC (UFKH), a new global initiative designed to unlock the potential of strategic foresight for the benefit of business, government, third-sector and society at large.
Devoted to building a strong and committed community between foresight practitioners, academics, and business leaders, UFKH will become one of the world’s first dedicated online resources exclusively focused on bringing together foresight knowledge, materials, experts and research.
Lizzie Hall, Product Manager in Emerald’s Business & Product Innovation team, was seconded to the UFKH as its Digital Operations Manager.
As part of her role with UFKH, Lizzie digitized existing Foresight archives to enable digitally searchable public access and provide a platform to share Foresight materials - such as books, journals, videos, PowerPoints, white papers and interactive materials - with members of the Hub (the Foresight community) and the wider public.
Lizzie said of UFKH and her secondment: “UFKH is a really exciting project that will help unlock the great potential of Futures for business, government, third-sector and society.
“It was great to have this opportunity and be involved in the project and help deliver its digital strategy.”
The UFKH service will be supported by a community of foresight practitioners and academics and availability of shared research data will be accessible via the Hub. Support can also extend to a personal ‘concierge’ service, delivering one-to-one guidance and assistance to ensure users are able to build foresight knowledge quickly and easily.
UFKH was established by future-thinking authority Patricia Lustig, a highly-regarded foresight expert and author of recently published Strategic Foresight: Learning from the Future and Gill Ringland, a renowned foresight consultant, speaker and author, who is Non-Executive Director of UFKH. The project is supported by key organisations including Emerald, APF (Association of Professional Futurists), JISC, World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF) and Z/Yen.
