Emerald to showcase new social sciences books programme at ASA 2016

Discover Emerald's new social sciences books programme at the American Sociological Annual Meeting

Bingley, United Kingdom, 18 August 2016 – Emerald Group Publishing will be exhibiting at the American Sociological Association (ASA) Annual Meeting, in Seattle from 20-23 August and showcasing the new social sciences books programme.

Emerald is actively commissioning books and series across a range of topics designed to compliment established journals.  The new books programme will initially focus on Sociology, Education and Politics and ‘grand challenge’ topics such as Environment, Health and Urban Studies.

Philippa Grand, who recently joined Emerald as Executive Publisher for Sociology and Criminology following 10 years at Palgrave Macmillan, and Kim Chadwick, Commissioning Editor for Education & Politics, will be representing Emerald at booth 330.

Philippa said: “While at the Annual Meeting, we will be actively approaching and seeking proposals for new monographs, handbooks, professional titles and short-form projects. We are keen to meet with authors and receive feedback from social scientists to help us uncover what our community wants from a new academic book publisher.

“We are also excited to meet with some of the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence Winners and present them with their certificates.”

ASA attendees should visit Philippa and Kim at stand 330 to not only discover more about the new books programme but also be in with a chance to win a $100 Amazon voucher!

To celebrate the ASA Annual Meeting, Emerald is offering free access to some of its award-winning and popular papers from its Sociology book series - visit the Sociology Subject Zone here:
